“The details are not the details. They are the design”

– Charles Eames

While each client and project is unique in character and objective, our process remains the same. A project brief is compiled by discussing the wants and needs with a client, ensuring the desired outcome is achieved.

During our process, we take careful consideration of the following elements:

Environment

Our approach is tailored to the environment. Taking an in-depth look at your site, we consider: where it is located, whether it is flat or sloping, where the sun travels throughout the day, if the area is subject to prevailing winds, if there are views to frame, and if there are views to avoid. We take note of every detail, ensuring our design is of the highest quality.

Shape

Architecture is like a large game of Tetris – each design brief varies, hence great thought must be given to how elements will fit together. Whether the project is a minor alteration, a major renovation or a brand new build – rotating a room or shifting a function can be the key to unlocking the perfect design.

Structure

The bones of each build. Though structure is often hidden away, it forms the most integral part of a project. Thought is given to the structural integrity of a property, engineering and the ease and cost of building. When it comes to structure, detail is key – we consider everything, including the possibility of future extensions.

Materials

Careful deliberation is given to the material specification of each project. Dictating factors such as the location of the site, exposure to weather elements and surrounding environment, size, and shape of the proposed build versus the ease of maintaining chosen materials are all weighed and balanced. Sustainability and longevity are key considerations.
